division 27 - French admiral. Bruat was named commander of the French fleet in the Black Sea during the Crimean War in 1854 but died of cholera while at sea near Toulon the following year.

Sculpture (1857) consists of a life-size angel sitting surrounded by various nautical paraphernalia including the prow of a ship.
